WordPress Theme Customization

Internet Marketing Chesapeake is an exciting and fresh company focusing on implementing cutting edge new media marketing and mobile marketing solutions for the small business owner.

Internet Marketing Chesapeake retained Bay Street New Media late last year to help tweak the website for their new business initiative.  As Internet Marketing Chesapeake had already selected a domain name and website host and had already installed WordPress, the only thing left to do was to customize the theme and populate the site with their content.  The homepage for this theme allowed for rotating images so we worked together to replace the stock images that came with the Super Clean theme.  Unlike some other WordPress themes, where the homepage content is built through a WordPress page, the Super Clean theme required that the content be built through the index.php.

Bay Street New Media populated the main sections of the new site and integrated an aWeber opt-in form.  Some custom coding needed to be done with the form in order to make it function well with the theme.  They had also selected a contact form plug-in that wasn’t as robust as the cForms plugin which we installed and configured for him.  Once the site was built, Bay Street New Media conducted a one-on-one video training session so that they could learn to maintain the different areas of the new site that required modifications to the php files or the CSS files.
